Alongside ‘Save the DGH’ colleagues, Josh Babarinde was proud to be at the forefront of our town’s efforts to campaign against proposals to remove key cardiology services at the Eastbourne District General Hospital (DGH) to Hastings Conquest Hospital, 20 miles distant.
He was on ITV News urging health bosses to keep critical cardiology services in Eastbourne. You can see Save the DGH Chair, Liz Walke, and fellow group member Dr John Clarke pile on the pressure too here.
As a local councillor Josh said, “I have also been spearheading the Borough Council’s opposition to these proposals. Most recently, I brought forward a Council motion to preserve our specialist cardiology services. I’m hugely disappointed that one Conservative councillor stood up and refused to back my motion to preserve these services, in what was otherwise cross-party agreement.”
We cannot afford to lose any more services in Eastbourne, and latest news suggests that Cardiac services will be retained in our town.
