Josh Babarinde OBE is Parliamentary Spokesman of the Eastbourne and Willingdon Liberal Democrats.
Born and bred in Eastbourne, Josh fights for residents as a local Lib Dem Councillor for Hampden Park and has a track record of rolling up his sleeves for our town. Notable recent initiatives include training and working as a volunteer Covid vaccinator; delivering school meals for St Elizabeth's Church to families in Old Town; and negotiating with City Fibre executives to restore roads and verges after cable-laying work.
Josh has a background as an award-winning entrepreneur and anti-crime worker, for which he has won numerous national and international awards - including an OBE from the Queen at the age of 26 (one of the youngest recipients in history).
Former MP Stephen Lloyd is backing Josh to be Eastbourne & Willingdon's next Member of Parliament. Stephen said: "we need an MP who puts Eastbourne & Willingdon above politics. Josh has the energy, heart, commitment and intellectual firepower to be that MP. Josh has always loved our town with the same passion I have, and is a thoroughly decent man."
Josh Babarinde OBE says: "It's an honour to put myself forward to represent Eastbourne and Willingdon as our next MP. The enthusiasm from fellow residents has been extraordinary. I'm committed to being the vocal and visible champion our town needs and deserves. I'll start by holding this government to account on its pledge of a new hospital for Eastbourne."
